Q: How can I get involved in theatre at the High School?
A: Here’s how to sign-up for Theatre Club…
Q: Is there a fee to participate?
A: Yes. But, there are scholarships readily available for any of the fees. The $21 club fee, payable on My Payments Plus, is required by MCPASD. Participation Fees for student actors, production crews, student designers, etc. are $75 per non-musical and $150 for the fall musical. Each show is a 8-9 week hands-on learning process for everyone involved. Fees cover materials, show shirts, posters, programs, tech week food, and more.
Q: To audition or not to audition?
A: Audition! There are a lot of ways to get involved with Middleton Theatre, but if we don't have willing performers, we don't have shows. It can seem scary, but the challenge of being onstage isn't so bad with the support, preparation, and encouragement your teachers and peers offer. We encourage everyone to try both on stage and off stage work to get a full understanding of the craft of theatre.
Q: What's the difference between stage crew and production team?
A: Students in stage crew meet weekly to help prepare the sets of the shows and learn various technical theatre skills. Production teams work weekly, during all tech rehearsals, and during the performances. They attend the read thru rehearsals, production meetings, can often collaborate with or serve as designers for shows, and more. The $75 participation fee applies to the production team members and cast members. You must submit a sign-up form to be selected for a show specific Production Team. Anyone enrolled in the Middleton Theatre Club can attend stage crew work days.

Q: Do you need any parent volunteers?
A: Yes, please!!!! Because Theatre is a very busy activity with five+ events per year, we rely on parent help to make things run smoothly. There are many fun ways to get involved and support the program. We hope parents will help with at least 1-2 shifts or volunteer tasks per year. If you can contribute your time, please fill out the Newsletter and Volunteer Sign-Up. Feel free to reach out to Katrina Brunner with any questions, [email protected].
